My old bike. What can you guys tell me about it.

I happened be at my parents house and my old bike was still in the garage. I haven't seen this bike since 87. What you guys tell me about her? I know it looks like a 82 and isn't all original. The last rim pic is another set of rims that were in the garage too.

Welcome. Well you're right it's an '82 but what do you want to know about her?

Here's the ref guide on the SS, they did change some parts from 1981 to mid 1983 when they stopped official production.

I didn't see anything on 82 specifically and thought it might be an odd ball. I'd like to fix it up and just ride it around my acreage. I think it looks pretty good for seeing 24 Canadian winters! Where is the best place to pick up parts? i.e. forks and decals.

Also the down tube on my bike says "Diamond Back" not "Diamond Back II." Which should it have?

The bikes in the referencing are detailed by year of release, not what year they were available from and to. DB did change some minor parts during these periods and these are mentioned where possible.

As for decals, there's FROGBMX in France and RETROSPECTBMX in the UK.
As for parts, Ebay, Wanted and generally just looking around.

It might be that the decal was changed, put on wrong, etc, although who really knows but it should be DIAMOND BACK II
