Serial number location (forks): inside of dropout starting 2 or 3 and ending with baseball type symbol

    Rear dropout: approx 1/16" (2mm)

    Top tube length: approx 18.6"

The 2nd generation Harry Leary underwent a leverage change to the rear dropouts sometime in later 1982, you can read more on that here

At this point the Leary was still relatively new and there is no evidence as yet to say when the 890's were updated with weinmann adjusters, and also when the Tech III lever was introduced. With this in mind and with the picture not being conclusive there looks to be adjusters on the front and the rear, but these are not standard 890s and using an unusual quick release mechanism which Harry himself used.

The original 1982 marketing brochure shows pre-bents, yet in early 1983 this seems to suggest tech III.

The 1st Generation Harry Leary not only owes its existence to 'Turbo' himself but also the Senior Pro, which was used to develop this iconic machine and is identical geometry.

The Leary Signature models were Senior Pro frame and forks but with the smoke coating applied. The only way to distinguish whether it started out life out as a Turbo are locating any smoke coating remnants (though over at the discussion area we are slowly compiling serial databases which might uncover a production pattern).

Early examples came fitted with standard 890's without weinmann adjusters and pre-bent levers as the original 1982 marketing brochure shows, yet in early 1983 this seems to suggest tech III.
