When the Silver Streak was released in the later part of 1981, the Pro Series was already established. This is probably why the Silver Streak's downtube was decalled up as 'DIAMOND BACK II'. It was after an all new colour format for the company with the Chrome/Black styling and advertised as the 'all new' Diamond Back.
It was originally stickered with a 'DB' headstock decal (picture of this will be added soon), identical in design to the Pro decal and later replaced for 1983 with the more common 'Snake' headstock and probably changed to coincide with the released of the lower end model Viper.

See here for a list of some Bars produced but I've seen in excess of 27 (I've a set on my Senior). Also, it could be that the ends are the originals, just worn which could give the appearence of size...
